Most launch videos just show you the product. We told a story that felt all too relatable.
dYdX's new exchange, built with Robinhood , putting stock tokens and perps on-chain around the clock. The product was new, the launch playbook for trading apps is not. Every competitor was shipping the same dark UI and glossy product shots. We were brought in to make one film that launched Arcus into a crowded market and made it impossible to scroll past.
We were tasked with launching a new way to trade in a sea of identical launches, with 60 seconds to grab your attention.
Owning the process end to end., we started with concept, script and storyboard, then a live shoot, edit and grade, all in-house. Instead of selling features, the film sells a feeling: trading your GOOGL position from a pub garden at 7:38 on a Friday, drink in hand, while traditional markets are closed. Real life first, product second, with the UI woven into the moment rather than bolted on after.
It landed as intended. The launch film went out on 21 July and drew 215K views, 1.1K likes and 300+ reposts on X, standing apart from every other exchange launch that week. It's the kind of work we love most: one idea, crafted properly from first frame to final grade, and built to feel native in the feed rather than like an ad that wandered into it.
